With over 10 feature films and TV dramas under his belt, Mikael has an extensive and unique experience as a filmmaker. His career includes his feature film debut Call Girl, which won the International Critics’ Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. The miniseries Lasermannen won the Kristallen Award for Best TV Drama in the early 2000s, while Upp Till Kamp received both the Prix Italia and the DN Prize in 2007.
The Hunt for a Killer, a six-episode true crime drama, premiered on SVT in the fall of 2020 to critical acclaim. His adaptation of Kerstin Ekman’s classic novel Blackwater for SVT won Prix Europa, Best Series in the International Panorama section at Series Mania, and the Kristallen Award for Best TV Series.
